It was a day that will remain blazingly clear in my memory, and one which unquestionably confirmed the entire direction of my life. I understood that our entire universe is contained in the mind and the spirit. We may not choose to find access to it, we may even deny its existence, but it is indeed there inside us, and there are chemicals that can catalyse its availability.

Music is the language of languages, it can be said of all the arts, there are none that more powerfully moves and changes consciousness.

I despise a world that doesn't feel that music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy.

I believe in God, Mozart and Beethoven and likewise their disciples and apostles; I believe in the Holy Spirit and the truth of the one indivisible art; I believe that this art proceeds from God and lives in the hearts of all illuminated men; I believe that he who once bathes in the sublime delights of this high art, is consecrate to her forever, and never can deny her; I believe that through art all men are saved."

Its taken 14 billion years for matter to gain the capacity to become conscious of itself. If this is true, it wouldn't make any sense that the whole point of enlightenment would be to escape from the whole process at the very instant that the universe is beginning to awaken to itself.

Spiritual practice is evolving; vision is evolving; realisation is evolving. Enlightenment itself is evolving.

As we gradually learn to harness the optimal computing capacity of matter, our intelligence will spread through the universe at (or exceeding) the speed of light, eventually leading to a sublime, universe wide awakening.

And so the arts are encroaching one upon another, and from a proper use of this encroachment will rise the art that is truly monumental.

Evolution moves towards greater complexity, greater elegance, greater knowledge, greater intelligence, greater beauty, greater creativity, and greater levels of subtle attributes such as love. In every monotheistic tradition God is likewise described as all of these qualities, only without limitation: infinite knowledge, infinite intelligence, infinite beauty, infinite creativity, infinite love, and so on. Of course, even the accelerating growth of evolution never achieves an infinite level, but as it explodes exponentially it certainly moves rapidly in that direction. So evolution moves inexorably towards this conception of God, although never quite reaching this ideal. We can regard, therefore, the freeing of our thinking from the severe limitations of its biological form to be an essentially spiritual undertaking.
